2 Corinthians

Chapter 3

1 DO we begin again to commend our selves? Or do we need, as some other people, epistles of commendation concerning us written to you, or that you should write commending us?

2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, well-known and read by all men:

3 For you are known to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the spirit of the Living God; not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of the living heart.

4 Such is the trust that we have through Christ toward God.

5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our strength comes from God,

6 Who has made us worthy to be ministers of the new covenant; not of the letter, but the Spirit: for the letter of the law punishes with death, but the Spirit gives life.

7 Now if the ministration of death, as contained in the letter of the law and engraved on stones, was so glorious that the children of Israel could not look at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance; which glory was not lasting:

8 Why then shall not the ministration of the Spirit be more glorious?

9 For if there be glory in the ministration of condemnation, much more will the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

10 Just as that which was not glorious became glorified, in comparison with that, this excels in glory.

11 For if that which was not lasting was glorious, much more glorious will that be which endures.

12 Seeing therefore that we have such hope, we conduct ourselves bravely:

13 And not as Moses who put a veil over his face, so that the children of Israel might not look upon the fulness of the glory which was not lasting:

14 But their minds were blinded: for to this day, when the Old Testament is read, the same veil rests over them, and it is not known to them that the veil has been removed through Christ.

15 But even unto this day, whenever the en_lbp_books of Moses are read, the veil is upon their hearts.

16 Nevertheless whenever a man turns to the LORD, the veil is taken away.

17 Now the LORD is that very Spirit: and where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with open faces, see as in a mirror the glory of the LORD, and we shall be transformed into the same likeness, from one glory to another, just as the Spirit comes from the LORD.

Глава 3

1 Должны ли мы, впрочем, снова представляться вам? И нужны ли нам, как некоторым, какие-то рекомендательные письма к вам или от вас?

2 Такое письмо для нас — вы сами. Оно написано в сердцах наших и легко узнаётся и читается всеми.

3 И ясно, что вы — письмо Христово, которое в служении нашем писали мы не чернилами, но Духом Бога Живого, и не на скрижалях каменных, но на скрижалях сердца человеческого.

4 В такой уверенности мы пребываем перед Богом благодаря Христу;

5 в нас самих нет ничего, что позволило бы нам считать себя способными для этого дела — от Бога та способность наша,

6 Он дал нам ее, чтобы могли мы быть служителями нового завета — не буквы, но Духа, ибо буква Закона убивает, а Дух животворит.

7 И если смертоносное служение с его высеченными на камнях буквами являло себя в такой ослепительной славе, что не могли израильтяне смотреть на лицо Моисея из-за сияния той славы, хотя и угасавшей,

8 то не в большей ли славе должно совершаться служение Духа?

9 Если в сиянии славы свершалось служение, которое вело к обвинению, то не большей ли изобилует славой служение, ведущее к праведности?!

10 Так что прежде прославленное ныне осталось без славы из-за славы, безмерно ее превзошедшей.

11 Ибо хотя и преходящее было в славе, насколько же больше слава того, чему быть вечно!

12 С такой надеждой мы и действуем смело и открыто,

13 не как Моисей, который скрывал от взоров израильтян лицо свое под покрывалом: им не следовало видеть конец славы исчезавшей.

14 Но мысль их закоснела, так что и по сей день это покрывало остается у них при чтении Ветхого Завета неснятым, снимается же оно там, где Христос.

15 И до сих пор, когда читают они Моисея, лежит покрывало на их сердцах.

16 Но снимается оно всякий раз, как только обратится кто к Господу.

17 Ведь Господь наш есть Дух, а где Дух Господень, там свобода.

18 И все мы, — каждый с открытым лицом, — отражая, как зеркало, славу Господа, сами преображаемся в образ Его. От славы к славе ведет нас Господь, Который есть Дух.

8 то не в большей ли славе должно совершаться служение Духа?

9 For if there be glory in the ministration of condemnation, much more will the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

9 Если в сиянии славы свершалось служение, которое вело к обвинению, то не большей ли изобилует славой служение, ведущее к праведности?!

10 Just as that which was not glorious became glorified, in comparison with that, this excels in glory.

10 Так что прежде прославленное ныне осталось без славы из-за славы, безмерно ее превзошедшей.

11 For if that which was not lasting was glorious, much more glorious will that be which endures.

17 Ведь Господь наш есть Дух, а где Дух Господень, там свобода.
